ocre-taupe-manual-retractable-awning
Manual Retractable Awning Taupe | Ocre

Taupe shade above the terrace, the balcony or the garden. The Ocre is the most naturally resolved manual retractable awning in the Shadelys range: an earthy taupe canopy in 180 g/m² PU coated polyester that sits within the material palette of most Australian outdoor spaces rather than introducing a contrasting element into them. A practical shade structure that adjusts to your space through a 125cm hand crank, extends when the sun demands it, and retracts when conditions change. White steel frame, multiple widths available, outdoor use only.

The 180 g/m² polyester fabric with PU coating provides reliable everyday protection against direct sunlight and outdoor conditions. The PU coating enhances the durability of the fabric across extended outdoor use, and the taupe canopy absorbs light without the visual heaviness of a darker tone, creating a comfortable, naturally shaded environment beneath the awning through the hottest part of the Australian day. The canopy is maintained with a damp cloth after exposure to rain or dust, keeping the fabric in good condition across the outdoor season without any complex care routine.

The hand crank at 125cm length extends and retracts the canopy smoothly from a comfortable standing position. The canopy angle and height are both adjustable, allowing the Ocre to be configured to the specific sun angle and shading requirements of your outdoor space as conditions change through the day and across the season.

A taupe manual retractable awning for patios, balconies and garden areas

The Ocre is available in multiple widths with a white steel frame finish. Select the width that suits your installation span using the options above. The adjustable height and angle settings accommodate most standard wall, fascia and balcony railing configurations without modification, making the Ocre a versatile fit across a wide range of Australian outdoor spaces from compact apartment balconies to open garden patios.

The retractable design adapts the shading area to the changing position of the sun through the day. Extend the awning fully during the peak midday and afternoon hours, reduce the extension as the sun angle changes, or retract completely when the outdoor space is not in use or when wind conditions make it advisable to close the canopy. That flexibility is the practical advantage of a retractable awning over a fixed shade structure: the coverage adjusts to the conditions rather than remaining constant regardless of them.

Manual hand crank: 125cm
Adjustable height and angle | White steel frame | 180 g/m² PU coated polyester canopy | Outdoor use only

For other manual awning options in the Shadelys range, see the Volet in anthracite or the Persienne in cream. Against red brick or sandstone, it echoes the warm earth tones of the building rather than contrasting against them. Against white render or pale fibre cement cladding, it adds warmth without weight. Above a timber balcony deck or a natural stone patio, it occupies the same earthy register as the materials below it. Where a dark awning defines a space by contrast and a pale one brightens it, taupe simply belongs within the setting, making the Ocre the most low-maintenance colour choice in the range from a design perspective.

The white steel frame of the Ocre complements both light and mid-toned exterior finishes without demanding a specific architectural context. Together, a taupe canopy and white frame is the combination that reads as considered without being deliberate, suited to the Australian homes that prefer their outdoor additions to look as though they have always been there.

At a glance

Manual retractable awning, multiple widths available.
