persienne-cream-manual-retractable-awning
Manual Retractable Awning Cream | Persienne

Cream shade above the window, the balcony or the terrace. The Persienne is the lightest-toned manual retractable awning in the Shadelys range: a cream canopy that filters the overhead light rather than blocking it, installed at any height between 200cm and 300cm, extending to a maximum projection of 120cm, and operated by a 125cm hand crank that fits on either side to suit your space. It covers a terrace or balcony in the conventional awning sense, and mounted directly above a window it softens the quality of the light entering the room rather than eliminating it entirely. Two frame finishes available: white frame for the most seamless integration with light exterior palettes, and anthracite frame for a defined contrast against pale render or cladding.

The steel frame provides the structural rigidity required across the full range of available widths, holding the canopy flat and taut at full extension without flex at the outer edge. The 100% polyester canopy with PU coating is water and dirt repellent, UV-resistant and rated for high lightfastness, meaning the cream tone holds its warmth through sustained outdoor exposure without yellowing or shifting toward a dull off-white. The canopy is fully removable and machine washable, allowing the fabric to be cleaned at the start and end of each season rather than wiped in place. On a light-toned canopy exposed to the Australian summer, that washability is not a minor convenience but a meaningful difference in the awning's long-term appearance.

The 125cm crank handle reaches the awning comfortably from standing height. Left or right installation is set at assembly with no adaptor required, and the canopy angle adjusts to suit the pitch needed for your specific sun exposure and weather protection requirements.

A cream manual retractable awning for terraces, balconies and window installations

The Persienne is available in multiple widths across two frame finishes. Regardless of the configuration selected, the maximum projection remains 120cm and the installation height adjusts between 200cm and 300cm, covering most standard window and fascia heights without modification. Select the width and frame finish that suit your space using the options above.

The 120cm projection positions the Persienne as the right choice for compact outdoor spaces, balconies and window-adjacent installations where a larger motorised awning would extend too far into the available area. For entertaining terraces and larger patio areas requiring a deeper projection and motorised operation, the Brise offers the same cream tone in a 4m wide motorised format with 300cm projection.

Maximum projection: 120 cm
Installation height: 200-300 cm | Support bar: 16mm diameter | Crank length: 125cm | Left or right crank installation

For shade coverage across open areas beyond the awning, our Cantilever Umbrellas and Shade Sails collections offer complementary freestanding options. Against white or light render it extends the building's exterior palette outward without introducing contrast. Against red brick or sandstone it softens the façade tone rather than sharpening it. Above a dark timber balcony railing or a contemporary powder-coated steel frame, it provides the lightness that keeps the compact outdoor space feeling open rather than enclosed.

Above a window, the cream canopy produces a quality of indoor light that neither a dark awning nor an unshaded window can replicate. Direct summer sun filtered through cream polyester enters the room as a warm, diffused glow rather than a harsh beam, reducing glare and indoor heat without the darkness of a solid blind or the full exposure of an uncovered pane. In the Australian context, where north and west-facing windows receive the most intense sun through summer, that filtering quality is a genuine thermal and visual comfort advantage over the full range of daylight hours.

At a glance

Manual retractable awning, multiple widths available.
