Shade Sail Accessories

Everything you need to hang, tension and look after your shade sail. Fixing kits combine pad eyes to anchor each corner, turnbuckles to pull the sail tight and snap hooks to take it down quickly when strong wind is forecast. Choose the kit that matches your sail's shape and number of corners.

Choosing the Right Fixing Kit

A fixing kit gives every corner of your shade sail a solid anchor and a way to tension it. Pick the kit that matches your sail: four sets of fittings for a square or rectangle, three for a triangle. Each kit lists what's inside and the sails it's designed for.

What Each Part Does

Pad eyes screw flat onto a wall, beam or square post and give each corner a fixed point. Turnbuckles sit between the pad eye and the sail: twist the body to pull the corner tight, and re-tension in seconds when the fabric settles. Snap hooks close the connection and let you unclip the sail quickly when strong wind is forecast.

Fitting Your Hardware

Fix pad eyes only to solid structures: posts set in concrete, brick or block walls, or a structural beam. Use the wall plugs supplied for masonry. Pad eyes need a flat surface, so on a round steel post, use a post bracket or an eye bolt instead. Fit each turnbuckle almost fully open, then tighten, so you have thread left to take up slack later.

Shade Sail Accessories FAQ

Which fixing kit do I need?

Match the kit to your sail's number of corners: a four-corner kit for square and rectangular sails, a three-corner kit for triangles. Each kit page lists its contents and the sails it's made for. Not sure? Email us the sail you have and we'll point you to the right kit.

Will these kits fit my shade sail?

Our kits are designed for shade sails with metal rings at each corner, like every sail in our range. Check the kit page for the sails it's made for, and make sure your sail's corner rings are large enough for the hooks to pass through.

Do I need a turnbuckle on every corner?

It's the best way to get an even, tight finish, because each corner can be adjusted. With fewer turnbuckles, tension the sail from those corners and fix the others directly with a snap hook. A tight sail sheds rain better, flaps less and lasts longer.

Are the fittings rust-resistant?

Our fittings are made from stainless steel, which resists rust far better than zinc-plated hardware. Close to the coast, rinse them with fresh water from time to time to stop salt building up, and check them at the start of each season.

Can I fix pad eyes to a fence, fascia or gutter?

No. Fences, fascia boards, gutters and balcony railings aren't built for the pull of a tensioned sail and can be damaged in wind. Use posts set in concrete, brick or block walls, a roof bracket fixed into a rafter or a structural beam.
