The granite plate is fitted with four castors for repositioning on a smooth, level surface. Close the umbrella before moving the base. Move the setup using the base rather than the umbrella pole, then lock the castors and tighten the two tube bolts before reopening the canopy.
At 45cm in diameter and 30kg, the Bedrock Base provides a stable, low-profile foundation that holds its ground without taking over the visual space around it. The black finish and natural granite surface read as materials rather than equipment — exactly what a premium outdoor setting calls for.
The Bedrock Base accepts the 38 mm pole diameter used by the Mas 3 m and the 48 mm pole diameter used by the Domaine 3.5 m. The stainless steel tube is intended for outdoor use. The granite plate requires no filling before use, but the base should still be cleaned and inspected periodically. Check the castors, tube and locking bolts for wear, corrosion or loosening.

The Bedrock Base is compatible with the Mas 3m market umbrella (38mm pole, via adaptor) and the Domaine 3.5m market umbrella (48mm pole, native fit). The choice between a concrete-filled base and a solid granite base comes down to three things: material quality, portability and longevity. Granite is denser than concrete at the same volume, which is why a 45cm granite plate can reach 30kg without the larger footprint of a concrete fill system. The solid granite plate requires no filling before use. Clean the granite and metal components periodically and inspect the castors, tube and locking bolts for wear or loosening. In the Australian outdoor context, where bases are left out through summer heat and winter rain alike, natural stone simply outlasts engineered fill.
The four castors are the other practical advantage. A 30kg base that cannot move is manageable; a 30kg base on castors is effortless. On a smooth paved surface — concrete, stone, composite decking — rolling the entire umbrella setup into a new position takes seconds. Installation and Maintenance
Assemble the base using the instructions supplied with the product. Attach the four castors and stainless steel tube as directed, then place the 30 kg granite base on a flat, stable surface. Use the supplied pole adapter for a 38 mm umbrella pole, or insert a compatible 48 mm pole directly into the holder. Tighten both locking bolts evenly by hand until the pole is held securely.
The four castors allow the base to be repositioned on smooth, level surfaces. Always close the umbrella before moving it and push the base carefully rather than pulling on the umbrella pole. Due to its weight, assistance may be required when lifting or carrying the base.
Clean the granite surface and stainless steel tube with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap where required. Avoid abrasive or acidic cleaning products, and dry the metal components after cleaning. Periodically check that the castors, tube and locking bolts remain securely fitted. During extended periods of non-use, store the base in a dry, sheltered location where possible.
