Dark anthracite, in a larger format. It's the same character as the Levant 3x3m — a deep, warm charcoal that absorbs the glare bouncing off stone paving and polished concrete — stretched across a rectangular span of four metres by three. This anthracite cantilever umbrella works as a self-contained architectural element above the table: 12m² of dense, readable shade across the hours when the Australian sun is at its harshest.
The rectangular 70 x 50 mm powder-coated aluminium mast rises at an angle from the cross base, leaving the area beneath the canopy clear. Eight aluminium ribs support the double-top vented canopy. The upper opening allows some air and heat to pass through the canopy.
Set above a large teak dining table or an eight-to-ten-seat outdoor lounge, the Levant XL reads as a statement piece rather than an afterthought. Unlike a pale canopy, the anthracite fabric doesn't bounce harsh light back at you — it draws it in, casting a deep, even shade that makes midday dining genuinely comfortable.
The Levant XL opens to a rectangular 400x300cm canopy — a full 12m² of shade. That's a third more coverage than the 3x3m format, enough to shelter an eight-to-ten-seat dining table or a complete outdoor lounge setting. The UV-resistant polyester canopy is designed to help limit fading caused by normal outdoor exposure. As with any outdoor fabric, its appearance may gradually change over time depending on sunlight, weather conditions, use and maintenance.
An ergonomic crank handle opens and closes the canopy, while 360° mast rotation lets you track the sun across the sky without shifting a single chair. The canopy also tilts to block low-angle light. With no centre pole interrupting the space, the cantilever design keeps walkways and sightlines completely clear even at this scale.

Installation and Maintenance
The cantilever umbrella can be assembled in under 30 minutes using the supplied instructions. Place the aluminium cross base on a flat, stable surface, secure the mast in position, then open the canopy using the crank handle.
The umbrella must be installed with a compatible ballast or anchoring system fitted to the included 100 x 100 cm cross base. The Holdfast Base Weight Kit is designed for compatible cross bases and provides up to approximately 100 kg of added ballast when all four plates are fully filled with dry sand. The kit is sold separately.
Ballast does not make the umbrella windproof. Close the canopy during strong or gusty winds and whenever the umbrella is left unattended.
The polyester canopy with PA coating can be cleaned using a soft, damp cloth. Allow it to dry completely before closing or storing the umbrella. When not in use for extended periods, close the canopy and protect the umbrella with a suitable outdoor cover where possible.

A compatible weighted or anchored base may be used on a flat, stable surface where the product instructions permit it. Stability depends on the umbrella, ballast, installation surface and exposure.

How many people can sit in the shaded area?
A 3×3m cantilever umbrella provides 9m² of shade — enough to comfortably seat 6 to 8 people around a standard outdoor dining table, with clearance around the chairs included. For a lounge arrangement, the same canopy covers a three-seat sofa, a coffee table, and two occasional chairs with room to spare. Are cantilever umbrellas waterproof and do they provide UV protection?
Most residential canopies are water resistant rather than fully waterproof, so they are designed for sun protection and light showers, not continuous rain or use as a permanent roof. Check the individual product page for the fabric specification and any tested UPF 50+ rating. Shade can significantly reduce direct ultraviolet exposure, but reflected and indirect radiation can still reach the area beneath the canopy. For Australian conditions, combine well positioned shade with the other sun protection measures recommended for the day.
How much wind can a cantilever umbrella withstand?
No universal wind limit applies to all cantilever umbrellas, and this product does not have a tested wind-speed rating stated on this page. Wind ratings published for another model must not be applied to this umbrella.
