A round cantilever umbrella that works in two shifts. Through the day, the Solano delivers approximately 7m² of shade beneath a 3m waterproof sand canopy — no centre pole, no obstruction, just clean, uninterrupted coverage above the table or the pool deck. When the sun drops below the horizon, 24 integrated LEDs powered by a solar panel switch on automatically, turning the outdoor space beneath the canopy into something altogether different: a lit, defined outdoor room that keeps the evening going without a power cable in sight.
The metal mast rises at an angle from the 100x100cm cross base, freeing the entire space beneath the canopy of any obstruction. Eight ribs hold the round canopy open across its full 3m span. An air vent at the crown releases accumulated heat upward as cooler air circulates in below, keeping conditions comfortable through the peak afternoon hours — the same feature that makes the shade usable, not just present, during the height of an Australian summer.
The crank mechanism opens and closes the canopy in a single smooth action. The sand canopy is waterproof and UV-resistant with colourfast polyester construction — it handles rain without a spray treatment, holds its warm sand tone without bleaching, and wipes clean easily.
The Solano opens to a round canopy of 300cm diameter — approximately 7m² of shade. The circular profile centres naturally above a round outdoor dining table, covers a poolside lounge area without the hard geometry of a rectangular canopy, or creates a soft overhead zone above an open entertaining terrace. Unlike every other umbrella in the Shadelys range, the Solano doesn't close when the sun does: the integrated 24 LED system, charged through a single 0.7W solar panel during the day, activates automatically at dusk and runs for up to four hours.
After around 8 hours of charging in sunny conditions, the integrated LEDs can operate for up to 4 hours — enough to carry a summer evening from sunset well into the night. The lighting is integrated into the canopy structure, requires no external power source, and produces an ambient overhead glow that makes the outdoor space feel enclosed and intentional after dark.

Installation and Maintenance
The cantilever umbrella can be assembled in under 30 minutes using the supplied instructions. Place the aluminium cross base on a flat, stable surface, secure the mast in position, then open the canopy using the crank handle.
The umbrella must be installed with a compatible ballast or anchoring system fitted to the included 100 x 100 cm cross base. The Holdfast Base Weight Kit is designed for compatible cross bases and provides up to approximately 100 kg of added ballast when all four plates are fully filled with dry sand. The kit is sold separately.
Ballast does not make the umbrella windproof. Close the canopy during strong or gusty winds and whenever the umbrella is left unattended.
The polyester canopy with PA coating can be cleaned using a soft, damp cloth. Allow it to dry completely before closing or storing the umbrella. When not in use for extended periods, close the canopy and protect the umbrella with a suitable outdoor cover where possible.

Does the umbrella come with a base?
All LED umbrellas in the Shadelys range include a base. The type of base and whether additional ballast is required varies by model — refer to the specific product page for details.
For cantilever LED models, the included 100x100cm aluminium cross base is not a complete weighted base: a compatible ballast or anchoring system is required and sold separately. The Holdfast Kit is designed for compatible 100x100cm cross bases and provides up to approximately 100kg of added ballast when all four plates are fully filled with dry sand.
For double canopy LED models, the included sandbag base must be filled fully with dry sand before first use to provide adequate stability. Always ensure the base is fully prepared before opening the canopy or canopies.
Can the umbrella be used in windy conditions?
The umbrella is not windproof and no tested wind-speed rating is stated for any product in this range. Where a canopy vent is fitted, it allows some air to pass through, but this does not make the umbrella suitable for use in strong or gusty wind conditions.
Always ensure the base is fully prepared and adequately weighted before use. Close the canopy during strong or gusty winds, whenever the umbrella is left unattended, and before repositioning or moving the base.
How should I care for the canopy?
The polyester canopy can be cleaned using a soft cloth, mild soap and water. Prolonged exposure to sunlight and outdoor conditions can gradually affect any fabric colour — closing and covering the umbrella when not in use helps preserve its appearance over time. Allow the canopy to dry fully before folding or storing it.
For integrated LED fittings, avoid directing high-pressure water toward the LED components during cleaning — wipe gently with a damp cloth only. Where a solar panel is fitted, keep the panel surface free of dust and debris to maintain charging efficiency throughout the season.
What size table can the umbrella cover?
Shade coverage depends on the canopy size and format of the specific model — refer to the product dimensions listed on each product page. Cantilever models position the pole to one side, leaving the entire area beneath the canopy free from a central mast. Double canopy models extend coverage across a significantly larger span from a single central pole.
Where a tilt function is fitted, it allows you to adjust the canopy angle to maintain effective shade coverage as the sun moves through the day. Actual shade coverage varies depending on sun angle and umbrella position.
How do I choose the right canopy colour?
Choose a canopy colour or combination that complements the furniture, flooring and finishes already present in your outdoor space. For single-canopy cantilever models, neutral tones such as sand and taupe blend naturally with timber, stone and concrete surfaces, while darker tones such as anthracite and black create stronger contrast and produce a deeper, cooler shade.
For double canopy models, all combinations pair a primary colour with dark grey. Neutral combinations such as sand white and grey or taupe and grey integrate easily into most outdoor settings.
