Of the three LED cantilever umbrellas in the Shadelys range, the Meltem produces the most intimate ambience after dark: 24 solar LEDs set into the canopy from above, filtered through a taupe polyester fabric that turns overhead light into a warm, amber-edged glow. During the day, approximately 7m² of earthy shade above the table. When the sun goes down, a lit outdoor room that feels like it was designed that way from the start.
The steel mast rises at an angle from the 100x100cm cross base, leaving the entire space beneath the canopy clear. Eight steel ribs hold the round taupe canopy open across its full 3m span. An air vent at the crown draws accumulated heat upward as cooler air circulates in below — the detail that separates genuinely comfortable shade from shade that is simply present. The crank opens and closes the canopy in a single smooth action, and the canopy tilts to cut low-angle afternoon sun as it drops toward the western horizon.

Installation and Maintenance
The cantilever umbrella can be assembled in under 30 minutes using the supplied instructions. Place the aluminium cross base on a flat, stable surface, secure the mast in position, then open the canopy using the crank handle.
The umbrella must be installed with a compatible ballast or anchoring system fitted to the included 100 x 100 cm cross base. The Holdfast Base Weight Kit is designed for compatible cross bases and provides up to approximately 100 kg of added ballast when all four plates are fully filled with dry sand. The kit is sold separately.
Ballast does not make the umbrella windproof. Close the canopy during strong or gusty winds and whenever the umbrella is left unattended.
The polyester canopy with PA coating can be cleaned using a soft, damp cloth. Allow it to dry completely before closing or storing the umbrella. When not in use for extended periods, close the canopy and protect the umbrella with a suitable outdoor cover where possible.

For cantilever LED models, the included 100x100cm aluminium cross base is not a complete weighted base: a compatible ballast or anchoring system is required and sold separately. The Holdfast Kit is designed for compatible 100x100cm cross bases and provides up to approximately 100kg of added ballast when all four plates are fully filled with dry sand.
For double canopy LED models, the included sandbag base must be filled fully with dry sand before first use to provide adequate stability. Always ensure the base is fully prepared before opening the canopy or canopies.
Can the umbrella be used in windy conditions?
The umbrella is not windproof and no tested wind-speed rating is stated for any product in this range. Where a canopy vent is fitted, it allows some air to pass through, but this does not make the umbrella suitable for use in strong or gusty wind conditions.

How should I care for the canopy?
The polyester canopy can be cleaned using a soft cloth, mild soap and water. Prolonged exposure to sunlight and outdoor conditions can gradually affect any fabric colour — closing and covering the umbrella when not in use helps preserve its appearance over time. Allow the canopy to dry fully before folding or storing it.
For integrated LED fittings, avoid directing high-pressure water toward the LED components during cleaning — wipe gently with a damp cloth only. Where a solar panel is fitted, keep the panel surface free of dust and debris to maintain charging efficiency throughout the season.
What size table can the umbrella cover?
Shade coverage depends on the canopy size and format of the specific model — refer to the product dimensions listed on each product page. Cantilever models position the pole to one side, leaving the entire area beneath the canopy free from a central mast. Double canopy models extend coverage across a significantly larger span from a single central pole.
Where a tilt function is fitted, it allows you to adjust the canopy angle to maintain effective shade coverage as the sun moves through the day. Actual shade coverage varies depending on sun angle and umbrella position.
How do I choose the right canopy colour?
Choose a canopy colour or combination that complements the furniture, flooring and finishes already present in your outdoor space.
